Anthropoid (2016) is based on a true story during WW2 in 1942. Czech resistant soldiers are sent on a mission to kill Reinhard Heydrich, the mastermind of the holocaust.
Anthropoid stars Jamie Dornan playing Jan Kubis and Cillian Murphy playing Josef Gabcik. These two Czech agents are responsible for Operation Anthropoid. After parachuting from British planes into German occupied territory, Kubis and Gabcík are aided by several other Czech resistance fighters in Prague. What remains of the Czech resistance in Prague gathers intelligence on the movements of Heydrich. Next, they meticulously plan how to carry out their mission. The mission does not go exactly as planned but somehow they succeed. After the mission, the team of Czech agents also has to hide and fight to try to stay alive. However, the Gestapo and SS lock down Prague. They then search door to door for those responsible.
The movie is a great watch for anyone but especially lovers of history. It is filled with tense action and gripping emotion. The script even stays as close to the historical facts as a movie can.
