Jonah Hill and Miles Teller talk about their experience making the movie War Dogs. The interview covers what attracted the actors to the script, the challenges they faced, how they relate to their characters, and even the classic 1983 film Scarface.
The two discuss the unique comedic style that was a product of extreme situations. The ambitious characters repeatedly got themselves into trouble pursuing the seemingly impossible. Hill’s character is a conniving yet charming cut throat businessman. This certainly contrasts perfectly with Teller’s character. Teller plays a trusting and somewhat desperate soon to be father facing the reality of not being able to support his family. These attributes of the characters combined with the hustle culture of Maimi create their relentless drive. As a result, they land lucrative defense contracts but also problems with no way out.
The two seem to be very proud of the film and its director Todd Phillips who was also the co-writer.
